Medical Marijuana is now available to patients in the state of Maryland that have medical conditions that might be helped by its use. These include:

  1. Severe, debilitating, or life-threatening medical conditions
  2. Chronic pain (this means any pain that is ongoing)
  3. Chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that results in a patient being admitted into hospice or receiving palliative care
  4. A chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or the treatment of a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that produces: Cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures or persistent muscle spasms

If any of these problems are issues that affect you, then you could qualify for medical marijuana.

To start this process you need to do these things first:

  1. Go to this website and apply to be a medical marijuana patient:
  2. You will need to get copies of your medical record from your primary care doctor that shows that you do indeed have one of these conditions to qualify for this treatment. We can provide you with a form that you can fill out and give to your doctor that will allow them to send to our office this information. This must be either sent to us or brought in by you when you have your evaluation exam or we will be unable to continue the process.
  3. Schedule an appointment for an initial evaluation. This will include a review of your medical records, a brief physical exam, and interview by our physician.

The cost for this evaluation will be $175 and will be collected at the time of the evaluation. This evaluation is not covered by insurance.

Once we have determined that you qualify for medical marijuana, we will contact the Maryland Medical Marijuana Commission and notify them of our recommendation of your qualification for medical marijuana. You can then apply for a state issued Medical Marijuana card and this can then be taken to a dispensary where you can purchase your medical marijuana.
